Westleigh's homes range from Victorian terraces to post-war semis and newer houses on former colliery land, and many are being updated one project at a time. Our midi skip hire Westleigh service supplies 4, 5 and 6 yard skips across WN7, covering Westleigh Lane, Higher Folds and the roads towards Pennington. A midi handles a kitchen refit or garage clear out in one hire. Phone lines are open 24/7, and same day delivery is often possible where we have space.
Kitchen refits in Westleigh semis usually suit a 4 yard, around 40 bin bags. The 5 yard, about 50 bags, takes a bathroom renovation with tiles. For a garage, loft and shed clear out, the 6 yard builders skip holds up to 65 bags. Abbey is ISO 14001 certified and sorts waste at our transfer station.
Many Westleigh projects are bigger than a mini can handle but do not need a large maxi. A midi skip takes a whole kitchen, a bathroom or a garage clear out, and fits on most estate drives without a permit. You avoid paying for a second skip, and you can fill it at your own pace during the hire.

Westleigh has a lot of mid-sized home improvement work, from kitchen and bathroom refits to garage conversions and garden makeovers. Post-war semis and newer homes usually have drives that fit a 4 or 5 yard, avoiding any permit. The 6 yard builders skip is larger, so check your drive first. Older terraces usually need a road placement, which means a Wigan Council permit, and we apply for it. Westleigh Lane is a bus route, so we use side streets. Larger estate gardens can produce soil and turf during landscaping. Tell us about access when you book.
Westleigh and Leigh homes can book 4 to 6 yard midi skips from Abbey, with road permits arranged through Wigan Council as part of the booking.

0161 724 7252Three things set the price of a midi skip in Westleigh: the size, how long you keep it and what goes in. Soil and rubble weigh more than kitchen units and timber. A drive placement avoids a permit fee, while a road placement adds a Wigan Council charge. Delivery and collection are included. For a quote, ring 0161 724 7252.
That depends on a number of factors, such as the size you require, how long you need it for, and the location and position that the skip will be delivered to. Contact us and get an accurate price quote for your Westleigh skip hire.
For a bathroom refit or a shed clear out, a 4 yard midi skip is usually enough. Go up to the 5 yard for kitchens and fuller loft clear outs, and choose the 6 yard builders skip if the job includes soil, brick or rubble. Tell us what the job is and we will recommend the right size.
Westleigh driveways can take a midi skip with no permit needed. If it must go on the road, Wigan Council issues a permit first, and we apply for it on your behalf. The council sets the fee, which varies, so we confirm it when you book. Terraced streets usually need one, estate homes usually do not.
Different councils charge different amounts but it generally costs between £30 and £50 for a permit to place a skip on a road. We confirm the current charge when you book.
This is of course entirely up to you, but the normal hire duration is between 1 and 14 days. If your skip is on the road you will need to check the length covered by your permit.
Bricks, hard core, rubble, soil (that isn’t contaminated), domestic waste such as packaging, furniture, furnishing, fixtures and non-electrical fittings, wood, metal and plastic. We cannot take asbestos, electricals, fridges, tyres, paint, gas bottles, batteries or liquids.
Call us to let us know you have finished with the skip. A driver will then come to collect, usually within 48 hours. The skip is then taken to our waste transfer station where it will be processed for recycling.
We will advise you on the cost to hire a skip, depending on where you require the skip delivery in Westleigh, what you plan to put in the skip, and how long you wish to have the skip for.
