Shop refits, warehouse clear outs and apartment refurbishments keep Strangeways busy, and much of that work fills more than a mini. Our midi skip hire Strangeways service supplies 4, 5 and 6 yard skips across this commercial district, from the streets off Cheetham Hill Road to the wholesale blocks near Great Ducie Street. A midi holds a full unit refit while taking up modest kerb space. Order at any hour, and we can often deliver the same day where the schedule allows.
A small shop fit out usually fills a 4 yard, which holds around 40 bin bags. The 5 yard, about 50 bags, suits an apartment kitchen or bathroom refurbishment. For stripping out shelving and fixtures from a wholesale unit, the 6 yard builders skip takes up to 65 bags. Abbey is Constructionline approved and ISO 9001 certified.
Many Strangeways jobs are too big for a mini but do not justify a large maxi on a crowded street. A midi takes a shop fit out or a flat refurbishment in one hire, while needing only a modest road space. You save on a second delivery and keep the work moving, and we can agree a delivery time that suits your trading hours.

Strangeways is a working commercial area with wholesale warehouses, textile and fashion traders and newer apartment blocks. Mid-sized jobs here include shop fit outs, replacing shelving and counters, apartment kitchen and bathroom refurbishments and clearing back rooms of old stock. Few premises have off-road space, so the skip goes on the street with a Manchester City Council permit, which we arrange. Busy routes such as Cheetham Hill Road and Bury New Road have bus lanes and loading controls, so side streets are used. Tell us about trading hours, loading bays and any yard access when you call.
Shops, warehouses and apartment blocks in Strangeways can book our 4 to 6 yard midi skips, with road permits handled through Manchester City Council.

0161 724 7252Prices for a midi skip in Strangeways depend on the size, the hire length and the type of waste. Rubble from a shop refit weighs more than packaging and shelving. Most skips here go on the street, so a Manchester City Council permit fee is likely. Delivery and collection are always included. For a quote, ring 0161 724 7252.
That depends on a number of factors, such as the size you require, how long you need it for, and the location and position that the skip will be delivered to. Contact us and get an accurate price quote for your Strangeways skip hire.
For a bathroom refit or a shed clear out, a 4 yard midi skip is usually enough. Go up to the 5 yard for kitchens and fuller loft clear outs, and choose the 6 yard builders skip if the job includes soil, brick or rubble. Tell us what the job is and we will recommend the right size.
In Strangeways, a midi skip on the street needs a permit from Manchester City Council. Abbey handles the application for you, and the council sets the fee, which varies. If your premises have a private yard or off-road loading area, a skip placed there needs no permit.
Different councils charge different amounts but it generally costs between £30 and £50 for a permit to place a skip on a road. We confirm the current charge when you book.
This is of course entirely up to you, but the normal hire duration is between 1 and 14 days. If your skip is on the road you will need to check the length covered by your permit.
Bricks, hard core, rubble, soil (that isn’t contaminated), domestic waste such as packaging, furniture, furnishing, fixtures and non-electrical fittings, wood, metal and plastic. We cannot take asbestos, electricals, fridges, tyres, paint, gas bottles, batteries or liquids.
Call us to let us know you have finished with the skip. A driver will then come to collect, usually within 48 hours. The skip is then taken to our waste transfer station where it will be processed for recycling.
We will advise you on the cost to hire a skip, depending on where you require the skip delivery in Strangeways, what you plan to put in the skip, and how long you wish to have the skip for.
