As a Bury borough firm, Prestwich is close to home for us, and our skip hire Prestwich service covers every size across M25. We supply 2 yard minis for small clear outs, midis for refits, 8 to 16 yard skips for extensions and big projects, and RORO containers for commercial sites. Orders are taken by phone 24/7. Same day delivery is often possible, and collection usually follows within 48 hours of your call.
Household jobs in Prestwich range widely, so size matters. A mini suits a spare room, refits need a midi, and extensions or heavy landscaping need the 8 yard builders skip. Bulky, lighter waste from house clearances suits the 10 to 16 yard skips. Shops on Bury New Road often choose an enclosed lockable skip. Abbey has traded since 2011 and is Constructionline approved.
One skip clears a whole job in one go. Prestwich has everything from flats to large detached homes, and we match the skip to your space and project. Wait and load suits the busy village centre, where a skip cannot stay for long. Enclosed lockable skips keep waste secure. Everything goes to our transfer station for sorting and recycling.

Prestwich has a wide mix of skip work. Householders in semis and larger homes use minis and midis for refits and clear outs, while extensions and loft conversions need 8 yard skips. Shops and businesses along Bury New Road use enclosed lockable skips for refits. The village centre is busy with buses and has parking restrictions, so wait and load is often the best choice there. Homes with drives avoid a permit, while road placement needs one from Bury Council, which we arrange. Builders on larger sites may prefer a RORO container.
Builders, shops and householders across Prestwich, Sedgley Park and Rainsough can hire any skip size, with Bury Council permits arranged for skips on the road.

0161 724 7252Hiring a skip in Prestwich costs more or less depending on the size, the waste type, the hire length and whether a Bury Council permit is needed. Extras such as wait and load or a lockable skip have separate pricing. Every quote includes delivery and collection. Call 0161 724 7252 for honest advice on the best size.
That depends on a number of factors, such as the size you require, how long you need it for, and the location and position that the skip will be delivered to. Contact us and get an accurate price quote for your Prestwich skip hire.
Mini skips (2 and 3 yard) suit garden and household waste. Midi skips (4 to 6 yard) suit kitchen and bathroom refits and clear outs. For soil, brick and hardcore choose the 8 yard builders skip, and for bulky, lighter waste from big clearances a 10 to 16 yard maxi skip. Tell us the job and we will recommend the right size.
Prestwich skips need a permit only when they stand on the public road, and Bury Council issues it. Abbey applies on your behalf. Skips on driveways or private land need no permit, and many Prestwich homes have a drive. Charges vary by council, and we confirm them when you book.
Different councils charge different amounts but it generally costs between £30 and £50 for a permit to place a skip on a road. We confirm the current charge when you book.
This is of course entirely up to you, but the normal hire duration is between 1 and 14 days. If your skip is on the road you will need to check the length covered by your permit.
Bricks, hard core, rubble, soil (that isn’t contaminated), domestic waste such as packaging, furniture, furnishing, fixtures and non-electrical fittings, wood, metal and plastic. We cannot take asbestos, electricals, fridges, tyres, paint, gas bottles, batteries or liquids.
Call us to let us know you have finished with the skip. A driver will then come to collect, usually within 48 hours. The skip is then taken to our waste transfer station where it will be processed for recycling.
We will advise you on the cost to hire a skip, depending on where you require the skip delivery in Prestwich, what you plan to put in the skip, and how long you wish to have the skip for.
